DENIO - On Monday June 21, at his home in Lamoni, Elder John DENIO of the Latter Day Saints, aged 71 years, passed peacefully from this life to the great eternity. His disease was consumption and he had been lingering between life and death, suffering intensely for a long time.

Elder DENIO was a native of Jefferson County, New York, but for the past ten years had been a resident of Decatur County, at Leon, Davis City and Lamoni. To all who know him here he was an honorable, upright husband, father, and officer in the church of which he was a member. His wife, four sons and one daughter mourn his death. Funeral services were held at the L. D. S. church Tuesday afternoon, June 22, Elder Henry A. STEBBINS preaching the sermon, being assisted by President Joseph SMITH in conducting the services.
