Died at her home in Indianola, Iowa, Jan. 24, l904, MRS. RACHEL DAY, wife of J.S. DAY, aged 64 years. The body was prepared for burial by A.J. Brown, the undertaker, who furnished one of the finest caskets that we ever saw enter the cemetery at Decatur City. The remains were accompanied by her husband and other relatives to Decatur, arriving at Decatur City, Jan. 27, and was taken to the residence of MRS. AMANDA HUSTON where they remained until Thursday when they were taken to the M.E. Church where the funeral was preached by Rev. Volmer, when the body was laid to rest in the Decatur Cemetery.
MR. and MRS. DAY were old settlers of Decatur County. They were married in l882 and resided in Decatur until l887, when they removed to Indianola where MR. DAY had property.
