HAROLD DAY, son of J.S. and J.M. DAY, was born in Decatur City, Iowa, March 26, l87l. He received his early education in the public schools. In l887 he removed with his parents to Indianola, Iowa, where he attended Simpson College for three years, afterward removing to Kansas where he attended the State University at Lawrence, completing the course in the pharmacy department, he being a close student. In l894 his health failed him and he again removed to the State of Colorado, thinking he would derive benefit from the climate but as he did not improve, he went to California in l899 and established himself in the drug business where he died Nov. l3, l90l.

The remains were brought to Decatur City, accompanied by his two brothers, J.H. and DR. R.V. DAY. His father, J.S. DAY, arrived from Indianola, Ia., on Saturday and made arrangements for the funeral. The body arrived Monday, Nov. l8, and was taken to his aunt's, MRS. A. HUSTON, where it lay until 2:30 Tuesday when the funeral services were held in the M.E. Church. The body was followed by a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends to the Decatur Cemetery where it was laid to rest to await the resurrection.
