Obituary ~ Tressie Chlo (Emley) Clawson
February 19, 1893 ~ February 18, 1985

Tressie Chlo CLAWSON, 92, of 221 West Jefferson Street, Osceola [Iowa], died at the Clarke County Public Hospital Monday, February 18 [1985]. Services were held Wednesday, February 20 from the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Neville CLAYTON of Osceola officiating in the 1:30 p.m. rites. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery [Osceola, Iowa].

Tressie Chlo CLAWSON was born February 19, 1893, in Grand River, Iowa, daughter of Ed EMLEY and Elizabeth (FOLAND) EMLEY. She attended schools in Decatur County and on October 28, 1914 was married to Roy CLAWSON at a hotel in Leon.

She lived the major part of her life in Decatur County, coming to Clarke County in 1970. She was a member of the Zion Christian Church in Grand River.

Survivors include her husband, Roy of Osceola; nephew Don EMLEY of Manhattan, Kansas; niece Jan BUNTZ of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother Dale EMLEY of California; and sister-in-law, Ella EMLEY of Clarinda.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Hollie EMLEY, Ralph EMLEY, and Lowell EMLEY.
