Craig, Eldridge Joshua

Eldridge Joshua Craig, son of William and Sarah Johnson Craig was born
September 29, 1888, at Saline, Mo. and died at his home in Leon, March 27,
1965. He was married to Estella Davis at Davis City, July 10, 1910. To this
union was born two daughters, Pauline McDowell and Marjorie Young.
They resided on a farm near Davis City until 1940 when they moved to their
present home in Leon. Mr. and Mrs. Craig celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary in 1960.
Mr. Craig was a livestock dealer in and around Decatur County until he
suffered a stroke December 22, 1964. As a hobby he enjoyed hunting and,
fishing and he was definitely a sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bert, and, his daughter,
Pauline.
To mourn his passing he leaves his wife, a daughter, Marjorie, two
sons-in-law, two grandsons, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Robert Newburg were held at the Slade
Funeral Home, March 30 with interment in the Davis City cemetery.
