Former Resident Died Suddenly
George P. Comer, a former resident of Decatur County died suddenly at his home in Hyattsville, MD., on April 5.
He was born in Morgan township in 1885, the only child of James and Florence (Moore) Comer and lived there until 1899 when the family moved to Ravanna, MO. He graduated from Missouri State University and from Yale University where he received his Ph. D. degree and taught at Yale. From 1917 until his retirement in 1956, he was employed as a tax consultant and economist in the tariff division of the U. S. Treasury Department at Washington, D. C.
His wife was the former Hettie Johnston of Princeton, MO. His only child, Mrs. Florence Ruth Graham, is an attorney in New York City. He was a nephew of Mrs. Tincie Hubbard of Leon.
Burial was at Hyattsville.
