MARGARET EMERINE KOGER was born in Harrison County, Missouri, September 3, 1850, and died at her home in Grand River, July 23, 1905, aged 54 years, 10 months and 29 days. She was married to JOHN FREDERICK CREES, January 12, 1868. To this union were born fourteen children, four of whom died in childhood; nine were present at the funeral. She has made her home in Iowa since long before her marriage.
She leaves a wide circle of friends and neighbors to mourn her loss. The funeral was conducted by the writer who was at her bedside when she died.

MRS. FRED CREES died at her home half a mile northeast of Grand River, Sunday morning after suffering for a year with consumption. The deceased was a sister of MRS. ARTHUR THARP, of this city. The funeral services were conducted at the home after which interment occurred in the Funktown [a.k.a. Oak Hill] Cemetery. Clerk THARP attended the funeral, his wife returning home with him.

NOTE: This great lady was my gg grandmother; I did not know she died of consumption, which accounts for her passing away at such a young age after mothering 14 children.
