MOSES A. COSLER was born in Montgomery Co., Ohio, April 9, 1820, and departed from this life on his farm northeast of Leon, March 6, 1903, being 82 years, 10 months and 27 days old.
He was married to MISS PHOEBE TRISLER, Nov. 2, 1843. To this union were born eight children: MARY HIGBEE of Kansas; MATILDA WARRINGTON (now deceased), MARSHALL COSLER of Leon, Ia.; IRENE HEILIG of Philadelphia, LEONARD COSLER of Colorado; BERTHA WEARIN; DELLA MCVEY, Montguma (sic), Iowa; (can't read) COSLER, deceased.
Only three of his children were at his funeral, BERTHA, DELLA and MARSHALL, distance preventing the others from attending. He came to Iowa in 1850 and has resided in Decatur County for forty years.
He united with the Methodist Church when 16 years old and ever lived a consistent Christian life. He was a kind husband and father and was loved by all who knew him. For a number of years he has been a great sufferer and the last few years has been deprived of his sight, but bore it all patiently till called home. He was laid to rest in the Van Wert Cemetery, Sunday, March 8, 1903.
Dearest father thou hast left us
And thy loss we deeply feel
But 'tis God that hath bereft us
He can all our sorrow heal.

NOTE: I wonder if Montguma is supposed to be Montezuma.
