MRS. WILLIS CORNETT died Feb. 7, l905, at her home two miles east of

Davis City. The remains were brought to Davis City where funeral

services were held in the M.E. Church, Rev. Bingaman officiating, after

which the remains were laid to rest in our cemetery. MRS. CORNETT's

maiden name was PHOEBE MCMORRIS. She was born and reared in Coshocton

County, Ohio, and came to Iowa in l877 and was married to WILLIS CORNETT

in l878. Three children were born to this union, two daughters and one

son, who with her husband and four grandchildren are left to mourn the

loss of a kind mother and wife.

She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers. MRS. CORNETT

was a kind neighbor and her many deeds of kindness and acts of charity

will long be remembered by friends who sincerely mourn her loss. She

was a member of the Baptist Church and during her long illness, ever

borne with Christian patience, she gave those around her assurance that

she was ready and willing to go when her Savior called. Then dear

friends, weep not that mother is gone, but rather rejoice that her

sufferings are o'er and let each of us so live that we may meet her at

last on the ever green shore.
