Obituary ~ Lester Raymond Clark

Funeral services for Lester Raymond Clark was held at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, IA with Rev. Jim Gubser officiating. Burial was in the Garden Grove Cemetery. Military services were by Point Le Grove American Legion Post #450.

Lester Raymond Clark, son of Alda and Ethel (Kentner) Clark, was born Sept. 10, 1910 in Decatur County, Iowa and died Dec. 25, 1989, at Knoxville, IA at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 25 days. He was married to Edna Oliver on Mar. 22, 1933. The couple had 7 children.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. For 22 years he worked as a bulldozer operator for Kenyon Construction.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, Margaret, and Lois Clark and two brothers, Clyde and Carl.

Survivors include his wife; six children, Beverly Jackson and husband George of Weldon, IA; Leonard Clark and wife Linda of LeRoy, IA.; Dorothy Patterson and husband Pat of Florida; Virginia Watson and husband Ron, Derby, IA; Shirley Drake of Garden Grove, IA; Don Clark and wife Willa, LeRoy; 22 grandchildren; and one sister Mildred Silcott of Calif.
