Subject: OBITUARY - MARTHA E. CLARK.

MARTHA E. CLARK was born May l7, l858, in Appanoose County, Iowa. At

the age of nine years she removed with her parents to this county,

residing on a farm two miles south of Garden Grove.

She was married to W.R. CLARK on January l9, l879. To this union were

born 7 children, 5 of whom are now living. She departed this life

September l5, l899, after a protracted illness of catarrhal consumption.

Thus closes the life work of another mother--a mother whose whole life

work has been for the welfare of her family, and whose only regret in

obeying the death summons was that her family was still needing her care

and she longed to stay with them.

Having an abiding faith in the justice and mercy of an allwise Father,

she committed her little ones to His care and has gone to rest.

Funeral services were conducted at the residence on east Ninth Street at

2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. Wm. Biggs of the Baptist Church,

officiating.
