Obituary ~ Violet Chick

Decatur County Journal
Leon, Decatur County, Iowa
May 21, 1903

Died, at the home of her parents, MR. and MRS. MADISON CHICK, near Grand River, Iowa, on May 12, 1903, little VIOLET, aged one year, eight months and seven days. The little one had been suffering for some time and all that loving hands could do was done but to no avail, as the messenger came and carried her away where families will part no more.

A large number of friends gathered at the home where services were conducted by Rev. E.E. Hunt of Grand River, after which the body of the dear one was laid to rest in the Funktown [a.k.a. Oak Hill] Cemetery. The family have the sympathy of many friends in this the hour of their great sorrow.
