Albert "Ray" Cave
June 24, 1888 ~ March 28, 1908

Decatur County Journal
Leon, Decatur County, Iowa
Thursday, April 02, 1908

ALBERT RAY CAVE was born at Adel, Dallas County, Iowa, June 24, 1888, died at the home of his parents, MR. and MRS. EDGAR CAVE, north of Decatur City, Iowa, March 23, 1908, aged 19 years, 9 months and 4 days. With his parents, he came to Decatur County in 1895 where he had ever since resided. He attended the common schools until recently when he went to Des Moines and attended Highland Park College, taking a course in telegraphy. After being there about three weeks he was called to his home above.

RAY was a young man of much promise. While not a member of the church, his last days and hours were spent in prayer, asking God to forgive all of his imperfections, and expressed his wish to live that he might unite with the church. His last words were "O, God, save us." He leaves a sorrowing father, mother, two sisters and one brother to mourn his departure, four brothers and one sister having preceded him to the other world.

The funeral services were held at the Decatur City M.E. Church on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Elder J.S. Coffin, interment being in the Decatur City Cemetery.
