ELSIE BEE, daughter of W.J. and M.J. CUMMINGS, died January l6, l895, aged 6 years, 2 months and l2 days. Little ELSIE was sick nine days and suffered severely with the dreaded disease diphtheria. She bore her sufferings with patience. ELSIE was an interesting little girl, of a sweet temper and an amiable disposition, who endeared herself to all who knew her. Death with his icy fingers comes stealing away the little flower from amidst young playmates.
ELSIE has gone home before us. She is sheltered from every storm, protected from every sorrow.
Soaring in angelic flights and animated with celestial joys, they are ready to welcome us when God in His own good time may call us hence.
While to the grave the flower is borne,
Around her cold remains,
How all the tender passions mourn,
And each fond heart complains.
Hope, cheerful smiles amid the gloom,
And beams a healing ray;
And guides us from the darksome,
To realms of endless day.
--T.E. and A.B. CUMMINGS.
