Obituary ~ Daniel M. Craigo
April 02, 1817 ~ April 16, 1904

Leon Reporter
Leon, Decatur County, Iowa
Thursday, April 21, 1904

DANIEL CRAIGO, one of the oldest persons in Wayne County, died at the home of his son, AL CRAIGO, two miles northeast of Corydon on Saturday morning, from infirmities incident to old age, no disease being apparent, just a wearing out of the faculties. He had attained the age of 87 years and 14 days. He was born in Pennsylvania and came to Iowa in 1859, settled at Eddyville where the family remained until 1874, when they moved to Allerton, Wayne County. From there they moved to Garden Grove where his wife died about three years ago, after a wedded life of over 62 years. Since then he had made his home with son, AL CRAIGO most of the time.

To the couple, 13 children were born of which eight are now living, viz: AL and CHARLES, of Corydon; NATE, Leon; JAMES, Garden Grove; JOSEPH, Cedar Rapids; BENJAMIN, Pawnee City, Neb., and ANDERSON, Des Moines.

The funeral took place yesterday, the remains being taken to Garden Grove for interment by the side of his wife.
