OBITUARY
ARMINA COLE
Armina
COLE, daughter of William and Rachel FOLAND, was born Jan. 8, 1884, in Decatur
County, Iowa, and died at Clarke County Hospital Sept. 2, 1978, age 94 years, 7
months and 15 days. She received her education at the Brick School, known as
the Tennessee settlement, and last at Van Wert.
On Feb.
24, 1907, at the home of her parents, she was married to James A. COLE. They
lived on a farm near Grand River, where James was born, for seven years. They
bought a farm west of Van Wert, where they lived until 1926 when they moved to
a farm near Grand River until 1929, they moved to a farm six miles east of
Osceola. In 1949, they retired to Osceola.
Survivors
are five children: Mendall and wife Crystal; Elmer and wife Zerilla; Sylvian
and wife Florence; Donald and wife Virginia; and Burdena MUNGER and husband
Lowell; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Preceding
her in death were husband James; daughter Ardetta GEORGE; and son Kenneth; two
great grandsons, Douglas COLE and Duane HEMBRY; two sisters, Elsie BOYD and
Anna McKEE; three brothers, Emmett, Michael, and Luster FOLAND.
On Feb.
24, 1957, Armina and Jim celebrated their golden anniversary. On Feb. 24, 1967,
they celebrated their 60th [anniversary].
