Margaret H. Bethards

Margaret Helma [siq] Bethards, daughter of Samuel William and Ida Lillian (Smith) Lorey, was born March 18, 1903, in Decatur County, Iowa and died Nov. 16, 1990, at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa, age 87.

Margaret went to school in Leon. She lived most of her life in Leon and Mt. Ayr, Iowa, areas. On March 18, 1921 her 18th birthday, she united in marriage to Oka Fay Bethards in Des Moines, Iowa. To this union were born three sons and one daughter: Harry Fay, Jack Lester, Donald Keith and Connie Sue.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons Jack and Donald Bethards; nine brothers and one great grandchild.

Survivors include her husband Oka Bethards, Leon; son Harry Fay Bethards, and wife Lois, Richland, Iowa; daughter Connie Deaton, Solon, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
