OBITUARY

DONNA D. BENSON

 

Donna Dalene BENSON, daughter of Royal and Ruth (SPRAY) BOLES, was born September 6, 1930, at Grand River, Iowa, and died May 26, 2000, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, Iowa, at age 69.

 

Donna graduated from Grand River High School. She attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis. She traveled with a gospel singing group that sang in Fort Dodge where she met her husband.

 

She was united in marriage with Leland BENSON on March 12, 1950 at the Grand River Assembly of God Church. The couple worked together in their businesses, Benson Implement in Grand River for five years, and Lee Benson Chevrolet and Pontiac in Gowrie for 42 years. She accepted Christ at a young age and taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fort Dodge. Memorials will be given to missions.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents.

 

Survivors include her husband Leland, Gowrie; daughter, Judy McDANIEL and husband Carter, Memphis, TN; sons, Greg BENSON and wife Linda, and Marlin BENSON, all of Gowrie; four grandchildren: Carter, Carrie, Catherine and Cassie McDANIEL; sister Eunice WRIGHT, Redding, CA; brother, Darrold BOLES and wife Ann, Hemet, CA; other relatives and friends.
