EMILY ALLEY died near Leon, Iowa, July 24, l90l. She was born March l, l798, making her l03 years, 4 months and 24 days old at the time of her death. She was married in early years to a MR. MONOHON, who died a few years later, leaving her with a small family. She afterwards married DR. JONATHAN ALLEY, of Indiana. They moved to Iowa when the country was very new, where he died over forty years ago.

She has seen many trials and hardships of pioneer life in Iowa, though she never had much sickness. She kept up until within two days of her death, when she passed away without pain. She was laid to rest in the Burrell Cemetery, beside her son, G.W. ALLEY. Services at the grave in charge of Rev. Ellers.

She was listed as NANCY ALLEY, age l03, born in Tennessee.
