February 25, l897

Died, Sunday, February 2l, at l0 a.m. at his home two miles northwest of

Van Wert, MR. H.J. ALLISON, of typhoid fever. He bought and moved on

the land which he afterwards made a farm, about six years ago where he

lived till the time of his death. He was an old soldier and an

industrious, frugal man. His son, WM. ALLISON of Cass County, was

telegraphed for but did not arrive till some hours after his father's

death.

DARWIN B. COOK died February l3, l897, at the age of fifty-seven years.

The "boys who wore the blue" will say: "He is mustered out and has

received his final discharge."

The writer officiated at the funeral, with but one other comrade at the

grave and a number of friends who followed him to his last resting

place.
