EDITH MYRTLE ATHERTON was born in Vermont, Ill., Jan. 2, l880, and died
at the home of her parents five miles southwest of Leon, June 25, being
23 years, 5 months and 23 days of age. The deceased had been in
declining health for two years or more, but for the last six months
there had been a more rapid decline, and the ailment more acute.

She had always been of a bright, cheerful disposition, and had been
religiously inclined, though never having identified herself with any
branch of the Christian Church. Funeral services were conducted at her
late home Friday, June 26, by Rev. I.N. Woodward. Interment was made in
the Leon Cemetery.
