MRS. MINERVA ARNEY died at the home of her step son, A.H. ARNEY, five
miles north of Leon, Wednesday morning, of exhaustion attendant upon old
age.  The deceased resided near Ottumwa and came here only last Thursday
to spend a few days with her relatives.  She was not feeling well when
she arrived.  Friday evening the first premonition of a severe illness
came in a bad chill.  She gradually grew worse and yesterday morning
died.

The deceased was 78 years of age and was a pioneer resident of Davis
County.  The remains were forwarded to Troy, Davis County, yesterday,
where it was expected the interment would occur tomorrow.
