Subject: OBITUARY - LEONARD EUCLARE ALLEN.

October l3, l898

Died, of inflammation of the brain, at the home of his parents in

Burrell Township, three miles northeast of Davis City, LEONARD EUCLARE.

He was the second son of WILSON and MAHALA ALLEN, and was born in

Peoria, Mahaska County, Iowa, January ll, l893, and died October l0,

l898, being 5 years, 8 months and l9 days old.

LEONARD was a bright and loving child and was loved by all who knew him.

Although his stay was so short, it was like the fleeting shadows, soon

come and soon gone. The parents and friends have the sympathy of the

entire neighborhood in their sad bereavement.

The funeral service was conducted at the Bethel Church by Rev. H.A.

Bennett, after which the little body was laid to rest to await the

resurrection morn.

When we see a precious blossom

That we tended with such care

Rudely taken from our bosom

How our aching hearts despair;

Round its little grave we linger

Till the setting sun is low,

Feeling all our hopes have perished

With the flower we have cherished so.
