Died.
At Lamoni, Iowa, Wednesday November 24th, 1909. Mrs. Elizabeth Alvis, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. L. Heathman, where the funeral service was held on Friday, November 26. Elder John Smith had charge of the exercises and Elder Heman C. Smith preached the sermon. Mrs. Alvis was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Burial in Rose Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Elizabeth Alvis was born at Chandler, Indiana, March 21, 1857. She grew to womanhood at that place and was married to Mr. Clark Alvis, April 26th, 1874. Her recent home was at Columbus City, Iowa, until September 18th of this year, when she came to Lamoni to make her home with her sister. She was a great but patient sufferer during her long illness. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. O. I. Thompson, one granddaughter, two sisters, and two brothers to mourn her loss.
