ARTHUR ALLEN, only child of MR. and MRS. JOHN R. ALLEN, died at the residence of his grandparents, MR. and MRS. H. EWING, of Davis City, Iowa, Jan. 30, l904. He was born Dec. l8, l896, being 7 years, l month and l2 days old at the time of his death. ARTHUR was an unusually bright, winsome child and was idolized by parents and relatives. The funeral was held at the Saints Church, Sunday at 3 p.m., the services being conducted by Elder D.C. White, of Lamoni, interment being in the Davis City Cemetery. The Chapel was filled to overflowing with sympathizing friends and neighbors. His sweet voice was ever caroling sweet music and his little hands were ever ready to soothe the anxious brows of anyone in trouble. Especially will he be missed by his devoted mother as he was her baby and his merry cheerful smiles, always dispelled whatever of worry or anxiety she might feel. The father had just moved to Kansas and as ARTHUR was indisposed the mother was waiting his restoration to follow, but he grew worse and his father was telegraphed for, getting here in time to care for him a couple of days only. They leave Thursday for Kansas where they have rented a farm. Christ has said "of such is the Kingdom of Heaven" assuring us of the fact that ARTHUR's body may be moldering in the grave but his little spirit is at rest in the Kingdom of God.
