After an illness of three or four years, MACY ACTON died at his home northwest of town last Thursday night. His sickness did not confine him to his bed or room all the time, but he would regain sufficiently to do a little work on his farm or get around. He went over to Davis City only a few days before he died, determining to stay on foot as long as possible. He was a peculiar man, peculiar in ways bordering upon eccentricity and yet some of his friends can attest to his willingness at times to change from a supposed right or wrong.

MR. ACTON was raised in this vicinity having been born 47 years ago. He married HANNAH MARTIN several years ago and to them were born several children, who with their mother, survive. He had accumulated enough of this world's goods to own some stock and a little farm which he left to his wife. He was not without, what many call faults, but let us draw the mantel of charity and let God judge, as his raising and his life was not as that of many of us, and who knows but that God in His infinite mercy has taken compassion on the poor soul. He was human, a son, a father, a husband, but he is no more now. He has gone the way all must go.

The remains were buried in the Hamilton Cemetery in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and friends.
