| The Leon Reporter Leon, Decatur County, Iowa Thursday, January 01, 1914 New Court Cases. Mrs. Susie Sipes vs. Henry H. Sipes. The parties were married at Trenton, Mo., in 1894, and lived together until April 13, 1913. Plaintiff alleges defendant has been guilty of cruel and inhuman treatment of her, that he has become an habitual drunkard and has neglected to support her and her family. Decree of divorce granted. Minnie O'Brien vs. Wm. F. O'Brien. The parties were married at Walla, Walla, Washington, June 8, 1913, and lived together until July, 8, 1913. Plaintiff asks for decree of divorce, alleging that before their marriage defendant represented to her that he was a sober, industrious man, and had not used liquor for more than five years. That after they were married they went to Chicago to reside and he became intoxicated and continued in that condition for three weeks, staying out at nights and neglecting his wife. He is a telegraph operator and commands a salary of $100 a month. She asks for $100 temporary alimony and $500 permanent alimony. Marion Woodard, attorney for plaintiff. P. Wolverton. The parties were married in Decatur county August 18, 1912, and lived together until in June, 1913. Plaintiff asks for a decree of divorce on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment, for $300 temporary and $1500 permanent alimony and the custody of their minor daughter. C. W. Decree of divorce granted. __________________ The Leon Reporter Leon, Decatur County, Iowa Thursday, January 22, 1914 Coral Myers vs. H. P. Myers. The parties were married at Garden Grove June 10th, 1910 and lived together until June 1912, when defendant deserted his wife and child and neglected to provide for their support. S. H. These parties were married in Decatur county March 24, 1912, and lived together until June 28, 1913. Plaintiff alleges her husband has treated her in a cruel and inhuman manner, and has unjustly accused her of infidelity, and that he has become an habitual drunkard. She has no property of any kind and defendant is running a restaurant at Decatur City and is capable of earning $50 to $60 a month. She asks for a decree of divorce with the custody of their minor son, and that she have temporary alimony of $150 and permanent alimony of $1,000. C. W. Hoffman, attorney for plaintiff. Decree of divorce granted. __________________ The Leon Reporter Leon, Decatur County, Iowa Thursday, February 5, 1914 Lena Leota Smith vs. Judson J. Smith. Action for divorce. It was ordered that defendant bring the two daughters as witnesses at the March term of court if able to come, if not able then the said daughters are to be brought to the August term, and to be present in court at the time of trial. Decree of divorce granted. __________________ The Leon Reporter Leon, Decatur County, Iowa Thursday, March 19, 1914 Frances L. Gore vs. Charles E. Gore. The parties were married at Leon on Dec. 25, 1907, and lived together until Jan. 19, 1914. Plaintiff alleges that soon after their marriage defendant became addicted to the use of intoxicants and has become an habitual drukard (sic), and when under the influence of liquor has assaulted her with a knife, screw driver and other instruments, and has threatened to shoot her and their child. The parties have a restaurant at Pleasanton worth $500 or $600 which plaintiff claims was purchased with money earned by her in the hotel and restaurant business. She asks for a decree of divorce, the custody of their four year old daughter, that the restaurant be given her as alimony and that defendant be restrained from coming about the premises or molesting plaintiff in the conduct of said business. The parties were married in Decatur county, Nov. 28, 1889, and at that time neither possessed any property, but by their joint efforts plaintiff alleges they have earned property of the value of $15,000 to $20,000 all of which is now in the possession of defendant. She asks for a decree of divorce on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment and that she be given custody of their minor son, Milton, and have $10,000 as alimony and $3000 for attorney fees. Plaintiff is a resident of Davis City. She was married to defendant at Georgetown, Washington, July 30, 1902, and they lived together until Sept. 4, 1909, when she alleges he deserted her without cause. She asks for a decree of divorce and the custody of their four minor children. A. P. The parties were married at Van Wert March 3, 1904 and lived together until August 26, 1914. Plaintiff alleges her husband has struck her with his fists on many occasions and threatened her life at different times, once chasing her a mile and a half with a shotgun. She also alleges he has become a habitual drunkard. In addition to a decree of divorce she also asks for the custody of their four minor children. C. W. The parties were married at Kansas City, Mo., June 28, 1913, and lived together until September of the same year. The parties were married in Decatur county, July 13, 1913, and lived together until December 30, 1913. Plaintiff alleges her husband systematically mistreated her and neglected her and finally refused to live with her and told her to go home to her parents. She alleges defendant has property wroth $6,000 and asks for a decree of divorce, the custody of their infant daughter and temporary alimony in the sum of $200 and permanent alimony of $1800. B. M. The parties were married at Grand River March 3, 1888, and lived together until August 1, 1913. Plaintiff asks for a decree of divorce on the grounds that her husband has become an habitual drunkard and mistreated her so that she cannot live with him.
