MR. THOMAS E. WALLACE and MISS HARRIET KIRKPATRICK, both of Leon, were united in marriage at the home of MR. and MRS. FRANK NOLAN, in Des Moines, on Wednesday afternoon of last week, the ceremony being performed at 3 o'clock by Evangelist C.S. Denny, being witnessed only by a few intimate friends.

The contracting parties are both well and favorably known in this city where they have spent all their lives, and we have never been called upon to chronicle a marriage of two persons better suited to each other, or who have more and truer friends who wish them every happiness. The groom is the present Sheriff of Decatur County, the magnificent majority given him at the polls last fall testifying to the high esteem in which he is held by the people of the entire county. There is no better or more popular fellow than genial TOM WALLACE and now that he has secured an estimable wife his happiness should be complete.

The bride is also well known in this vicinity, having spent all her life in this city, and for several years has ranked as one of the county's most popular and successful school teachers, having had charge of one of the rooms at the South Building in this city. She is in every way fitted to make a loving helpmate for the man of her choice.

MR. and MRS. WALLACE returned to Leon friday, and have gone to housekeeping in the Sheriff's residence. Many friends extend heartiest congratulations and wish them a happy and prosperous voyage through life.
