At 5 o'clock last evening, at the residence of the bride's parents, MAJOR and MRS. J.L. YOUNG, on east 11th street, occurred the wedding of MR. FREDERICK J. WAIGHT and MISS MARGARET YOUNG.
It was a quiet home wedding, only the relatives of the contracting parties being present. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W.H. Ilsley, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church, using the beautiful Episcopal ring ceremony.
The bride wore a silk muslin costume, en traine, trimmed with point lace yoke and white mousselaine de soie.
The groom is the only son of DR. and MRS. W.F. WAIGHT, of this city, and is one of the most popular traveling men on the road. For several years he traveled for Perkins & Brinsmaid, of Des Moines, but for the past two years has represented Burley & Tyrrell, of Chicago.
The bride is one of Leon's most beautiful and accomplished young ladies. She was educated at Parsons College and is possessed of unusual natural accomplishments. No more popular young lady ever resided in Leon than the one chosen by MR. WAIGHT for his bride.
After the ceremony the guests partook of an elaborate wedding repast.
The happy couple received many beautiful presents. The guests from abroad were: Mr. and Mrs. Lew H. Young, Ottumwa; Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Rinehart, Newton; Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Ferrin, Mr. and Mrs. W.I. Fritz, Clearfield; Mrs. Beatrice Bowen, Conway; Mrs. J.R. McPherrin, Clearfield; Miss Jessie McKlveen, Chariton; Miss Helen Young, Grandin, Mo.; Mr. Frank Brinsmaid, Des Moines.
MR. and MRS. WAIGHT left on the 8:40 train last evening for a ten day wedding trip. They will make their home in this city, and it is needless to say that many friends extend hearty congratulations.
