Married at high noon on December 2, l900, at the residence of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. W.P. AKES, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends, MR. OLIVER S. REX to MISS MATTIE AKES. Both parties are well and favorably known in this county. MR. REX is one of Decatur County's hustling farmers and is at the present time living with his parents on the place known as the John Harrow farm four miles northwest of Leon. The bride is one of Decatur Township's charming young girls, who by her loving ways has gained many friends. The words that made them husband and wife were pronounced by Rev. Harry A. Bennett.
After the ceremony, a bountiful dinner was served to all present which was prepared by the bride's mother, which everybody seemed to enjoy. May joy and happiness crown their pathway through life. Quite a number of valuable presents were presented them.
Those present to witness the ceremony were as follows: S.R. Akes, Rev. Harry A. Bennett and wife, Ed Vanderpool and family.
