At the residence of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. F.M. OSBORNE, on north Main Street, last evening occurred the marriage of MR. OAKEY C. CLARK and MISS NODA PEARL OSBORNE, in the presence of about 35 guests.
The large house was beautifully decorated with chrysanthemums, and when the clock struck eight, Miss Margaret Hurst struck the first note of Mendelssohn's Wedding March. As the beautiful music filled the house, the bridal party entered the parlor from the south and took their places under a chrysanthemum bower on the north side of the room. They were attended by Miss Jess Evans as bridesmaid, and Mr. George Carmean as best man. As the notes of the March died away, Rev. Geo. M. Hughes, stepped forward and performed the ceremony, using the beautiful ring ceremony of the Methodist Episcipal Church.
The beautiful bride was attired in green Sheer cloth over white, trimmed with pink velvet and ribbons. She wore chrysanthemums and carried a large bouquet of the same flowers. The bridesmaid was becomingly attired in a costume of pink Organdy over white and also carried chrysanthemums.
After the ceremony and congratulations the guests repaired to the dining hall where an elaborate wedding repast was served. The tables were tastefully decorated with chrysanthemums and smilax, and a chrysanthemum was at each plate.
The contracting parties are both too well known to need any words of praise. The bride is one of the most beautiful and popular young ladies in our little city, a graduate of the Leon High School. She is a general favorite with all her large circle of friends, and is in every way a prize well worth winning.
The groom was born and raised in Leon, and is one of the popular and successful young business men of our city, being the junior member of the large grocery firm of W.P. Clark & Co. His friends are legion and extend hearty congratulations to the groom and his bride.
A large number of costly presents attest the high esteem in which this worthy young couple are held. MR. and MRS. CLARK leave this afternoon for Des Moines where they will visit for about ten days after which they will return to this city and go to housekeeping in the Farquhar residence on South Main Street, now occupied by Dr. Fred Bowman. They will be "at home" after Oct. lst.
