NICHOLSON-BARR
One of the happiest weddings of the season was that occurring in the parlor of the Barr Hotel. Wednesday evening, April 27, when Todd B. NICHOLSON and Velva E. BARR were made one. The ceremony was performed by Elder George BLAIR, of Kellerton, in the presence of about forty guests, immediate relatives of the two contracting parties; Mr. and Mrs. BLAIR and daughter Hazel, and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. MYERS and daughters Gretchen and B. of Leon, were the only out-of-town guests.
After the solemnization of the sacred rites came the usual congratulations; then the company assembled in the spacious dining hall of the hotel where a feast, such an one as could be prepared only under the supervision of Mrs. L. J. BARR, awaited them. The various courses occupied the evening until late, after which the guests spent an enjoyable hour in social chat and music, not forgetting to remember the happy couple with a variety of elegant presents.
The groom is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. NICHOLSON, and a junior member of the firm of NICHOLSON, Clum & Co. He is a young man of industry, having a promising business career before him. The bride is second daughter of Mr.and Mrs. L. J. BARR. Her genial disposition and even temperament will make her an ideal companion. The young people take up their abode in a neat little cottage, previously furnished and ready for occupancy, where the best wishes of a host of friends follow them.
