Married, at the office of J.N. Gates at Leon, August 1, BENTON MCCLARAN to MISS GRACE MERRITT, Mayor Albaugh officiating.

Immediately after the ceremony the wedding party drove to the home of the bride's parents, where a bountiful supper awaited them.

The bride is the daughter of JOHN MERRITT, a well-to-do farmer living south of Davis City, and her gentle disposition and winning manners have won for her a host of friends.

The groom is the third son of JAS. MCCLARAN of this city, he is a young man of faultless character, polite and manly, and owns one of the finest farms in southern Iowa.

The happy couple immediately removed to their home west of town, where they are at home to their many friends. We predict a happy and prosperous future for MR. and MRS. MCCLARAN, and the ADVANCE joins their many friends in extending congratulations, and wishes them a life of love and joy.
