A pretty home wedding occurred at the home of MR. and MRS. JOHN OVERHOLTZER, six miles north of Leon, on Wednesday evening February l2, when their oldest daughter, CARRIE, was united in marriage to MR. MILES LUCE, of Van Wert, Iowa. Promptly at seven o'clock to the strains of the wedding march played by MISS ISABELLE HASTINGS, the bridal party descended the stairs, and took their place beneath a large white wedding bell, surrounded by red, white and blue decorations where they were met by the Rev. Mr. Barr of the Weldon Christian Church, who read the marriage service.
The bride was charmingly dressed in a costume of gray silk and carried white carnations. The bridesmaid, MISS EDYTH MACHLAN, wore pink and carried pink roses. MR. GEORGE IMHOFF served the groom, as best man. The wedding which occurred on Lincoln's Birthday was truly patriotic. The house was beautifully decorated in red, white and blue, also the officiating minister wore his soldier uniform.
After congratulations, a three course supper was served, the waiters being MISSES GRACE, OPAL and GLADYS OVERHOLTZER and MISS EDITH LUCE, who wore red, white and blue caps and aprons. A number of beautiful presents were received. Both the bride and groom were born and raised in the community in which they were married and where they have endeared themselves to a wide circle of friends. They will at once go to housekeeping at the groom's home 2 l/2 miles southeast of Van Wert. The best wishes of a host of friends go with them.
