Subject: WALLACE-WHITE MARRIAGE.

Date: Sunday, June 24, 2001 4:28 PM

Decatur County Journal

November 23, l899

At the residence of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. SAMUEL MILLER, of

east Leon, at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday evening of last week, IRA W.

WALLACE and MISS OLIVE WHITE were quietly married by Elder H.T. Clark of

the Christian Church. The wedding was entirely informal, no guests

being present except the bride's sister, MRS. L.A. PICKERING.

IRA WALLACE has been in business in Leon for the past six years and is

now a member of the butcher firm of Otten and Wallace. He enjoys a wide

acquaintance, not only in Leon, but over the entire county. "Doc" has

many friends who are pleased to know that he has been so fortunate in

his choice.

The bride has resided in Leon for some years and is a young lady of

energy and ambition who will be a valuable feature in the future success

of her husband.

At ll p.m., the brass quartette favored the newly married couple with

several choice selections and later a charivari party gave evidence of

their good will.

MR. and MRS. WALLACE will immediately move to property owned by the

groom on Idaho Street near the south school building.
