l5, l899, JEFFERSON W. STRANGE and MISS BERTHA HAMPTON, Rev. H.A.
Bennett officiating. The ceremony was performed in the presence of a
few relatives and intimate friends. MR. STRANGE has lived in Decatur
County for twenty years and has gained the confidence of all who know
him. The bride and her mother came from Fremont County about two years
ago. The newly married couple have the best wishes of many friends for
future happiness and prosperity.

SYLVESTER B. JOHNSON, of this city, and MISS IDA WATKINS, of Albany,
Mo., were quietly married Thursday evening of last week at the residence
of Robert Good on Q. Street, Mayor Woodard officiating. 'SYL' has been
employed by both hotels in Leon, also by many other prominent hostelries
in this state, and is at present with the New Leon. He has formed a
wide acquaintance among the traveling public and hosts of friends wish
him and his estimable and accomplished bride a long and happy married
life. They have taken up their residence in west Leon where they will
be at home to their many friends. The JOURNAL extends congratulations.
