Decatur County Journal

September 2l, l899

E.J. SPRINGER and MISS LAURA CHANDLER were married Thursday evening,

September l4, l899, at the home of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS.

W.S. CHANDLER, in west Leon, Mrs. Rev. Clara Flora of Des Moines,

officiating.

Promptly at 8 o'clock Miss Mildred Avery began the wedding march and the

bride and groom, attended by MISS BLANCHE CHANDLER, sister of the bride,

and FRANK SPRINGER, brother of the groom, took their places and were

joined in wedlock.

Immediately following the ceremony and consequent congratulations, the

guests were conducted to the dining room where a beautiful wedding

supper had been prepared. The large CHANDLER residence was beautifully

decorated for the occasion with flowers and pretty lights. The young

couple were the recipients of a number of presents--handsome, useful and

ornamental.

The bride is one of Leon's best young ladies, and has been engaged in

school teaching since finishing her studies. At the present time she

has charge of a department in the south building of the Leon Public

Schools.

MR. SPRINGER is quite well known in this vicinity and is a prosperous

and intelligent farmer who puts brains into his business and realizes

good results. May their married life be happy.
