Decatur County Journal

January 7, l904

MISS EDITH STOUT and MR. CHARLES A. SMALLWOOD were married on Wednesday

evening of last week at 6 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents,

MR. and MRS. JOHN STOUT, who reside on Main Street, in this city. Elder

H.H. Hubbell, of the Christian Church, performed the marriage ceremony

in an impressive manner. It was a very quiet but exceedingly attractive

home wedding.

After congratulations all repaired to the dining room and were served

with an elegant wedding supper. Only a few guests were present aside

from the relatives of the contracting parties.

The groom has resided in Morgan Township all his life and is a splendid

young citizen, meriting and enjoying the esteem of all who know him.

The bride is one of Leon's best young ladies and she is in every way

worthy of her husband's choice. Among those present at the wedding

were: MISSES FANNIE JACKSON, EDITH MARTIN, MAUDE STOVER, MR. and MRS.

MARION EVANS and MR. and MRS. HARRY BRADFIELD.

The groom owns a fine farm in Morgan Township and has recently completed

a nice residence. It has been fitted up for housekeeping and the worthy

couple will soon be at their new home which the JOURNAL knows will be a

happy one. On Thursday a dinner was served at the residence of BOSTON

SMALLWOOD in Morgan Township.
