BASHAW, at high noon yesterday, REV. G.D. GURLEY pronouncing the
ceremony that made the happy couple man and wife.
MISS MAUD SHULAR of Chariton, a sister of the groom, played the wedding
march in a most classical manner.
Immediately after the wedding dinner was served to the guests, about
thirty in number, who had assembled to witness the marriage.
The residence was beautifully decorated with cut flowers and potted
plants.
The newly wedded couple left on the afternoon train for their future
home in Des Moines, where they have a house furnished and ready for
their reception. They were accompanied to the train by a large number
of friends who, with showers of rice and other manifestations of good
will, wished them happiness and success through life.
MR. SHULAR is a young lawyer, a member of the firm of Brenner & Shular,
Des Moines. The bride has grown to womanhood in Leon and has endeared
herself to a wide circle of friends who will not soon forget her.
The JOURNAL joins in wishing these young people a bright and happy life
journey.
