Decatur County Journal

June 30, l898

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of MR. and MRS. J.H.

JOHNSON in Van Wert last night, when their daughter, BELLE, was united

in the holy bonds of matrimony to MR. WILLIAM H. RANSOM.

The bridal party assembled at the head of the stairway and promptly at 8

o'clock MRS. F.I. HALL began the strains of the wedding march and the

party advanced to the parlor, and there under a bower of roses, Rev.

Seth Samson pronounced the beautiful service which made them man and

wife. At the conclusion of the ceremony, by an ingenious arrangement,

two little girls showered the happy couple with roses, symbolical of a

happy and prosperous life.

The bride is a lovely young lady, and on this occasion her beauty was

heightened by a gown of cream albatross, trimmed with cream satin, lace

and ribbons. She has been a successful school teacher in Decatur County

and is possessed of many accomplishments.

MR. RANSOM is baggage master at the K.& W. and H. & S. depots at Van

Wert and has made many friends during his residence in that village by

his close application to business.

After congratulations had been extended, the guests were seated to an

elegant collation. The young couple were the recipiants of many

handsome and useful presents from admiring friends and relatives.

The JOURNAL joins their host of friends in wishing that theirs may be a

long and peaceful life.
