Decatur County Journal

January 2l, l904

The pleasant home of DR. and MRS. W.F. WAIGHT, in north Leon, was the

scene of a brilliant wedding last evening at 7:30 o'clock, the

contracting parties being GEO. W. PENNIWELL, son of MR. and MRS. J.F.

PENNIWELL, and MISS MAY WAIGHT, the charming and accomplished daughter

of DR. and MRS. W.F. WAIGHT; Rev. I.N. Woodward, Pastor of the M.E.

Church performing the ceremony. The house was beautifully decorated

with carnations and smilax. The wedding march, bridal chorus, from

Lohengrin, was played by Mrs. Mayme Throckmorton, of Derby, a sister of

the groom.

The bride looked lovely in a dress of white silk with pearl and chiffon

trimmings, the groom being attired in the conventional black. The

wedding was one of the prettiest of the season and a large number of

relatives and friends were in attendance.

MR. and MRS. PENNIWELL will go to housekeeping in the Lorey cottage on

North Church Street, where they will shortly be at home. The JOURNAL

joins the many friends of this worthy young couple in extending

congratulations. Following are the guests from out of town:
