OSCAR D. PENNIWELL, foremn of the Reporter composing room, and MISS

CLARA E. DAVIS, compositor in this office, were quietly married Monday

evening, at 8 o'clock at the home of J.L. GARDNER in north Leon, by

Elder E.M. Romine, Pastor of the Christian Church of Leon.

MR. PENNIWELL is well known to our people as a worthy and ambitious

young man of excellent habits. He has for some time past been in the

employ of O.E. Hull, publisher of the Reporter, and is a careful and

capable workman.

MRS. PENNIWELL, is the daughter of MRS. ELIZA JANE DAVIS, of near

Saline, Mo. She came to Leon in April to accept a position as

compositor in the Journal office, which position she has filled in a

highly satisfactory manner. During her few months residence in this

city, she has made many warm friends who join both the Journal and

Reporter and the printers of Leon in extending to the happy young couple

their heartiest congratulations and best wishes for a prosperous and a

happy future.

For the present, they will be at home to their friends at the residence

of J.L. GARDNER.
