JOHN PEARCE, formerly freight agent at this station of the C.B. & Q. was

united in marriage to MISS LA RUE HAMILTON, daughter of MR. and MRS.

J.P. HAMILTON, at the home of the bride's parents, in north Leon, at l0

o'clock Wednesday morning. Rev. R.R. Hopton, of Danville, a

brother-in-law of the bride, performed the ceremony. The happy young

couple departed on the noon train for Sholar, Texas, for a visit with

relatives of MR. PEARCE. After a short stay there they will probably

return to this state but are undecided as yet at what place they will

locate. Although MR. PEARCE has been in Leon but a short time, he has

made many warm friends during his stay. He is an excellent young man of

much ability. The bride is one of Leon's most charming young women and

popular with a wide circle of friends. Their many friends are now

extending their heartiest congratulations.
