Cupid has been lurking in our city again, and this time has consummated
an event which united the lives of MISS MARY ALICE RICHARDS and EDWIN G.
MURRY. The event occurred at the home of the sister of the bride, MRS.
M.J. PATTERSON of Park St., on the 22nd.
The bride being noted for her many virtues and a social favorite, is the
youngest daughter of MR. and MRS. EUGENE RICHARDS of Corbin, Kansas, who
formerly lived here; while the groom is among the most well and
favorably known young men of Van Wert, having lived here nearly all his
life. At seven o'clock while Mrs. Hall was playing Spindler's Wedding
March, the bride and groom appeared, preceded by the Rev. Rambo of the
Methodist Church, who performed a very impressive ceremony in the
presence of about sixty friends and relatives. The bride was
accompanied and carried bride's roses and was beautifully attired in a
brown serge trimmed in applique while the groom wore the conventional
black.
After the ceremony the happy pair led the way to the dining room where a
two course wedding supper was served. The presents were many and
valuable, nearly filling the table, set apart for them. The out of town
guests were: MRS. G.C. RICHARDS, aunt of the bride, of Indianola; MR.
P.H. MURRY and daughter of Ridgway Mo., daughter and niece of the groom;
DR. O.W. FOXWORTHY and wife, of Weldon, and the MISSES FORBES and SMITH
of Bethany, Mo. MRS. A.J. MURRY received in honor of MR. and MRS. MURRY
at dinner the 23rd, when a three course dinner was served to about
twenty-five invited friends.
MR. and MRS. MURRY will be at home to their friends after Feb. l, in Van
Wert. The writer with their many friends, wishes them a long, happy and
prosperous life.
