One of the prettiest autumn weddings of the year was solemnized

Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the home of MR. and MRS. M. WOODARD

in north Leon, when their daughter, MISS MARIAN WOODARD, was united in

marriage to ARCHIE LITTLEJOHN, of Independence.

The house was tastefully decorated in green and white throughout. The

ceremony was performed by Rev. Chas. Arthur Coakwell, Pastor of the Leon

Christian Church, in the presence of about fifty guests. MRS. HOYLE

GILREATH, of Yankton, South Dakota, a sister of the bride, rendered the

Mendelssohn wedding march as the young people took their places before

the officiating minister for the ceremony. MISS BLANCHE WOODARD,

another sister, assisted her at the piano. The bride's dress was a

beautiful white mouseline, trimmed in Irish lace. The ring ceremony was

used, and after congratulations, a three course wedding breakfast was

served.

The bride is one of Leon's most charming and accomplished young ladies

and is popular with a wide circle of admiring friends. She was formerly

a teacher in the public schools of this city, which position she filled

most acceptably. MR. LITTLEJOHN is a young business man of great

promise. He has made many warm friends in Leon. They departed on the

afternoon train, amid the good wishes of all.

Those from out of the city who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs.

James Littlejohn, of Independence; Mrs. Julian Butterworth, of Iowa

City; Miss Katie Kirwin, of Des Moines; Miss Bernice Palmer, of

Mitchellville, Miss Vivian Martin, of Chariton; Mrs. Wm. Ferrell, of New

London; Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle Gilreath, of Yankton, South Dakota; Earl

Scott, of Davis City; Miss Myrtle Walters, of Davis City; Miss Adda

Woodard, of Decatur; and Miss Agnes Shell, of Decatur.
