Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock occurred the marriage of DR. A.W. HOWE, of

this city, to MISS ROXANNA GRACE GARDNER, at the home of the bride's

mother, MRS. SUSAN GARDNER, at 4l2 Iowa Avenue, Iowa City.

Immediately after the ceremony the couple left for Indianapolis, Ind.,

where they will spend a few days with the doctor's brother. From thence

they will proceed to Potsdam, N.Y., where the doctor's parents reside.

They will spend a month or more in the east, visiting Niagara Falls and

other points of interest and then proceed home, being "at home" to their

friends in Leon after September l. They will occupy the BASHAW

property, formerly occupied by DR. J.W. ROWELL and wife.

The doctor is well and favorably known in Leon, having resided here

about a year and impressed all with his sterling character and ability

as a practitioner. The bride spent a few weeks in Leon a month or more

ago with friends and left a very favorable impression with our people.

We extend congratulations.
