Decatur County Journal

October 24, l907

The following account of the double wedding of MISSES EVA and FANNIE

SCOTT, sisters, of County Auditor H.G. SCOTT, and former residents of

Decatur County, is taken from the Mountain Grove, Mo., Journal, where

they have been making their home for some time.

"The home of MRS. MARY E. SCOTT, of this city, was the scene of a

beautiful double wedding, when MISS EVA SCOTT and MR. CHARLES ROSS

CUNNINGHAM, MISS FANNIE SCOTT and MR. WILLIAM MCKAY, were married at

high noon, October l5th.

The parlors and dining room were beautifully decorated with autumn

leaves and plants. To the strains of a wedding march played by Miss

Lucile Chase, the bridal party entered the parlor and took their places

under a bower of autumn leaves. The brides were gowned in white silk

mull, the gentlemen in black.

After a very impressive ceremony by the Rev. Emery, of the M.E. Church,

South, all proceeded to the dining room where an elegant three course

dinner was served. Mrs. W. H. Barnes, of Lamoni, Iowa, sister of MRS.

SCOTT, and Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Foltz, of Danville, Iowa, and a few friends

of the family were present.

Both couples were the recipients of many handsome presents.

MR. CUNNINGHAM, of Independence, and MR. MCKAY, of Hydro, are two of

Oklahoma's enterprising young business men.

The MISSES SCOTT were two of Mountain Grove's most charming young

ladies, and have a host of friends, all of whom wish them a successful

and happy married life. The young people departed on the evening train

for their homes in Oklahoma."
