HAPPILY WEDDED.

Register.

At 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon one of the prettiest and most sensible weddings of the season occurred at the home of Major R. D. KELLOGG, on West Eleventh street. The happily mated couple were Miss Alice KELLOGG, eldest daughter of Major and Mrs. R. D. KELLOGG, and Rev. William CARTER, of Streator, Illinois. The happy home was tastefully decorated with lilies and apple blossoms. The ceremony was impressibly performed by Rev. Robt. BEER, of Garden Grove, and intimate friend and for many years pastor of the family, and was witnessed by the relatives and a few intimate friends of the family. It was a sweetly solemn marriage, for it took a loved daughter from one of the best and most affectionate homes in Iowa. Major KELLOGG is one of Iowa's best citizens, a man who has made a splendid record in military, civil and public life, and enjoys the confidence and acquaintance of as many citizens of Iowa as any other resident of the state. The good wife and mother of that happy home has added more than half of its best and happiest features. Miss Alice KELLOGG has been very carefully yet tenderly raised. She was born at Garden Grove, is a graduate of the oldest female college founded west of the Mississippi river - Lindenwood College, at St. Charles, Missouri - one of the best Presbyterian schools in the country. She has been a resident of Des Moines but a few months, but within that time has gained many warm friends by grace of person and mind. Rev. Carter is a student of ?? (rest unreadable).
