From the Carthage, Mo., Democrat of March 3lst, we glean the following notice of the marriage of two former Leon printers, both of whom worked for several years in The Reporter office. They have many friends in this city who extend hearty congratulations:
FRANK P. KELLEY and MISS EATHEL PENNIWELL were united in marriage last evening by Rev. T.W. Jeffrey at the home of the groom, 711 East Third Street, at 8 o'clock.
Both the bride and groom are printers, the groom being employed at the Democrat office as a machine operator, while the bride has been employed as a printer in the composing rooms of the Press.
The wedding will be in the way of a surprise to the groom's mother, who is visiting friends in Joplin and was not aware of the wedding last evening. The contracting parties had kept their intended marriage a secret, not even their co-employees knowing of their intentions until yesterday.
Both bride and groom are expert printers and are capable of "holding down a case" or operating a machine in any print shop.
The newly wedded couple will be at home to friends in a few days at 711 East Third Street. They have a host of friends in the city who will join the combined forces of both the Democrat and Press offices, from the "devil" down, in wishing them a long, happy and prosperous wedded life.
