Married.
JONES - PITKIN - At their beautiful west-side home, Thursday evening at eight, occurred the marriage of Pearl E., oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. PITKIN to James F. JONES, President Joseph SMITH officiating. The ceremony occurred in the south parlor, under a beautiful draping of ribbons and flowers. Mrs. Deila B. DAVIES of Oskaloosa, Iowa, played Mendelsshon's wedding march; a soft and mellow air was played during the ceremony and prayer. Mrs. DAVIES, who was there by special request to play the march, and Mrs. BARRANS and Miss CREW, of Clearfield, cousins of the bride, were the only out-of-town guests. About thirty witnessed the ceremony.
A wedding feast such as is rarely seen had been prepared by Mrs. PITKIN and the daughters; and around the tables the guests were seated. And after due justice had been done the spread, the company arose to engage in social converse or to admire the beautiful presents that were in abundance.
The bride has been a resident of Lamoni since the winter of 1903 04, coming here with her parents from Minnesota. She is an excellent young woman, and has made many warm friends. The groom is one of "our boys." He has for several years been employed by Druggist BARROWS and has proven himself a steady, trustworthy young man of no mean business ability. The happy young couple will be at home, Lamoni, after July 10.
